this one really has my head bobbin'

the only things i dont like about it are the weird short timing change around 2:00 and the multiple breakdowns, gives the crowd too much downtime and not enough dance time.

4.5/5 and a DL =D

country? lmao.

you definitely nailed your premise though.

The drums are still rhythmic though, it would of been even worse with sporadic/asymmetrical drums.

i guess it wouldn't even be considered a song then though would it?

I like it over all, but it still has a few issues.

first off, they lyrics are a little cheesy lol. especially the first two measures. i do really like the delivery though.

also, the mix is a little funky, the insturments are really quiet behind the vocals, that might be the way you wanted it though, its hard to tell.

4/5 =)

from the first five seconds i like this one, the bass drop/pickslide sounding thing is really cool.

"I'm a 90's bitch!" lmao.

this is my favorite one by far. the delivery of the lyrics is perfect and unique, and the content of the words is meaningful and right up my alley haha. Im also kind of a sucker for the off beat open/close highhat work, not enough drummers do that anymore.

i bet this song really lights a fire out on the floor at your shows, if you play it live anyways haha.

I'm gonna share you'r guy's page on my bands FB page, there are a couple bands around here that play similar music, but you guys are so much cleaner. I think quite a few people around here would really like you guys. you've got yourself at least one new fan out here in the midwest.

third playthough: this makes me wanna dance around so bad, alot of music has lost its danceability lately and this gives me hope that people still wanna move. so good, 0 complaints.

fanfuckingtastic! you guys know what youre doing.

i love the drums and bass for the intro and between the vocals, it all has a lot of space to it, and the delay heavy guitar scratches fill it perfectly.

and when he starts hammering on the hi-hat and the vocals pick up, i can help but want to dance around a little, even sitting here on my couch haha.

also, the part where everything but the kick drum and bass around 3:30 is absolutely perfect for getting a crowd to clap along with the kick, and when the snare roll cracks it back open into the chorus its a perfect "GET UP AND JUMP!!!!!" moment.

the only thing i wanna complain about is i wish you had more verse. you mostly just repeat the title over and over, your singer has a good voice! you should work on your songwriting and cut down on the repetitive lyrics. other than that, i love it. it kind of has a radiohead feel to it.

you've got yourself a follower, and if you ever are trying to tour hit me up if you want to play a show somewhere in central Iowa, i know a lot of people out here =D

5/5

the first measure had my head bobbing, and it took less than a minute for me to favorite this song, definitely one of the cleanest tracks i've come across here so far. It's a little poppy for my normal tastes, but its so damn catchy i don't even care.

the delivery on the lyrics for the verse is interesting and clean, i love the stop-quick-go! style, and the bass break down leading into the chorus is perfectly set up and executed, along with the minimal drum solo leading into the second verse.

the Mix is professional sounding and everything fits together exceedingly well.

5/5 favorited, and downloaded. i wish you had more stuff posted!

Hey Thanks so much for all the reviews Fustigate! We will be posting more material when we release our EP (we're hoping a label will pick us up but if not we'll likely release by the end of summer) ! :) If there are any more songs contests on Newgrounds we will likely write and submit more as well.

Absolutely awesome intro! the chops on the guitar and drums mix perfectly, his double bass skills are outstanding.

the only problem i have with this song is the repetition of the instrumentals, and the vocals. the vox for the chorus sound good, but the feel of the verse is just off, the yell/scream thing just sounds wrong to me. If he was spitting out about twice as many syllables i think it would sound good with that tone, but with the speed and intonation of the lyrics i think a harsher growl would make this whole song sound way better.

AH! he finally opens up into the scream i've been wanting the whole song for like the last 10 seconds!

still, the mix is clean and the structure is solid, and you guys have a badass drummer haha.

Thanks for the honest feedback :)

Well the song has a pretty simple structure: main (theme) riff / verse / bridge / chorus - repeat :) We like to keep it minimal because we believe cludding the song with a ton of different musical phrases can kill the headbanging vibe. Our vocal though thinks the opposite so we're often forced to temper his enthusiasm and cut down the lyrics :) As for screaming...it goes with the song proggression and we use it only when needed :)

Anyway, thanks again & best of luck :)

I think i would have to label this more as alt-rock than punk, if not for the drums and feedback haha.

the only issue i can even see is that the vocals are hard to understand around 1:12. the "my feet shook, and i couldn't think over the the bass", put the posted lyrics pretty much void that tiny complaint haha.

I still really like the vocal style, your singer really has some pipes, and his sound is very signature. the only band i can even remotely compare to the style is She Wants Revenge, but its still a longshot.

its like pop-punk with a tiny little country influence =D
catchy, dancy, and VERY well mixed.

saw ya on RvR.

nice clean mix! I like how the vocals are halfway between yelling and screaming. The timing of the delivery could be a bit better though, it feels like the song is going way faster than the vocals. posted lyrics would be a plus too, but thats just a nit-pick haha.

I really dig the guitar work, and the drums are nice and crisp and clean. I love the drumroll on the snare right at the end of the song especially. the instrumentals are flawless as far as i can tell, and i worked for a year in a studio so I've got a pretty good ear for picking that kinda thing out.

still, 5/5, DL, and im probably going to end up creeping through your other stuff haha.

idfpower responds:

Thank you very much :)

Yeah, our "style" is not classic metal/thrash, but more towards hardcore with a lot of Pantera influences on top :) As for the vocals...that's another story, heh: we were pressed to finish the recordings in order to clear the studio as initially agreed, and of all days, that's when our vocal got a nasty case of sore throat - it was a real struggle for him to record. Nevertheless, we're proud of the result, in spite of the inherent little imperfections - especially considering it was the first time our guitarist & vocal sat foot in a studio :)

Btw, you've just been scouted for the audio section :) Congratz :)

This one sounds much more ska!

i like this one alot, the only thing that bothers me is the bass line when it first comes in, i can't really figure out why it bothers me, but the second and third note it hits throws me.

this makes me wanna circle pit!

I'm just a dirty punk raised in a college town. I've been playing drums for 10 years guitar for 8 years, and I've been writing (mostly shitty) songs so long i don't really know how long i have been. I play in a few different bands, n do 5-6 shows a month.
